Course Details and Map
The 10K race route will begin at the front of the Recreation Facility and will turn out onto 200 West, heading north until Pages Lane. Runners will turn west and continue on, following the Race signs and volunteers on course. There will be two aid stations along the race route. There will not be any portable stations. The 10K and 5K racers will line up in groups of 10 and have a stagger start behind the start line. The chip read will begin once the participant crosses the Start line. Masks will be required at Packet pick up and the start of the race, with a garbage can to dispose of your mask, once you cross the start line. Please stay on the sidewalk or in the bike lane, when running the course as much as is possible. Use caution and common sense when racing.

This course is used for all of our 5K races! If you’ve run with us before, it’s fairly easy…. All right hand turns and pretty flat! There will be one aid station about ½ way on race course, which will provide water, Gatorade and first aid to any in need. It is located at the halfway point of Porter Lane (1600 N) and Main Street. Facemasks are required at packet pick up and when lining up to start. They can be removed once you have crossed the start line. We do not close any roads for our races, please be safe and know the course!
The 1K starts in the parking lot behind our facility. Look for a large sign, a turkey costume, and chalk, indicating the starting line for our 1K. The route goes around our facility and ends back in the same parking lot it started in. We ask that all 1K racers stay on the sidewalk, know where to go, (the course), and have an adult accompany them if they are under 5 years old. Please ensure your child, 5 and older, has a face mask on when lining up to start the race. All 1K racers should pay extra close attention to our parking lot entrances! We have volunteers staffed there to direct traffic, but racers need to be aware of their surroundings and cars.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When does registration close?
A: Registration for our Thanksgiving Day Races closes on Tuesday, Nov. 23rd at 11:59 PM MST. In-person/race-day registration is available on Wednesday, November 24th and Thursday, November 25th during packet pick-up times.
Q: When is packet pick-up?
A: Packet pick-up will be the night before the race, from 5:00-7:00 PM and the morning of the races from 6:30 – 7:30 AM. It will be located in the Junior High school gym, connected to our facility. (550 N 200 W, Bountiful, Utah 84010) You are required to wear a Facemask at packet pick up, unless you have a medical reason preventing you from wearing one.
Q: Can I still pick up my packet (and shirt!) if I choose not to race?
A: Yes! It will be available for you to pick up for 1 week after the race. After that, it will no longer be available for pick up. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org for requests to pick up your packet.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Something to RUN in! We won’t cancel our race: rain, snow or shine! Dress for the weather! The last couple years we’ve had the sun grace us on race day, but we have experienced a snowstorm as well as single degree temperatures! Check the weather and be prepared for anything!
Q. When do I need to wear a face mask?
A. You will need to wear a facemask at packet pick up and while waiting in line to start the race. You will need to wear the mask until you cross the start line, at which point you will be able to discard your disposable face mask into a garbage bin, as you head out onto race course. We will provide disposable masks for you at packet pick up and at the start line.
Q: How early do I need to be here on race day?
A: Since you are picking up your packet on race day, come EARLY! Plan for lines, we will have upwards of 1200 participants registered for this this race. The shortest lines are at the beginning of packet pick-up which opens at 6:30 am on race day. You’ll need to plan to get parked in a busy parking lot, pick up your packet, get warmed up, and to the starting line before 8:00 am.
Q: Where should I park on race day?
A: Our facility parking lot (550 N 200 W, Bountiful, Utah) is where the majority of racers will park. The parking lot on 400 N in the back of our facility will be closed as the finish area for racers. Meadowbrook Elementary is our offsite parking, it is located at 700 N 325 W, Bountiful, Utah 84010. Street parking is allowed in most areas nearby the facility as well.
Q: Can I change race distances?
A: Yes. This can be done on active.com before the race or in person for a $5.00 fee. If you are increasing distance, you will also be charged the difference in race cost in addition to the $5.00 fee. If you choose to change on race day, there will be a difference in race cost if you’re increasing distance. Arrive by 6:30 a.m. if you are planning on changing your race distance.
Q: Can I exchange my shirt size if it’s the wrong size?
A: Unfortunately we order based on what you selected when you registered. We cannot exchange your shirt size.
Q: What kind of shirt will I get?
A: We provide a long sleeve tech shirt! It is gender specific and is one reason people like our race! So you know, they do tend to run a little small, so ladies… if you’re unsure, go one size up.
Q: What are the awards?
A: Awards will be given to the top 3 overall male/female as well as the top 3 in each age division for all distances, including the 1K. There will be no awards ceremony due to COVID regulations. You can pick your award up at the front desk on Nov. 27th and until Dec. 5th. If you need your award mailed to you, email: email@example.com to request your award to be mailed.
Q: Are results posted? When and where?
A: We post live results to: www.itsyourrace.com . They are preliminary live. We work through a couple glitches and have final results posted within 24 hours to the same site (www.itsyourrace.com) as well as the race website (www.southdavisraces.com), the facility website (www.southdavisrecreation.com), and our race series Facebook page (www.facebook.com/southdavisraces) . Phew. We’ve got a lot of sites to post to.
Q: Can I switch my entry to a friend or family member if I’m injured?
A: Sure! This will also be subject to a $5.00 fee. You’ll need to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org at least 48 hours in advance of race day!
Q: Can I get a refund if I change my plans or I’m injured?
A: Sorry! No refunds on race registrations!
Q: Can man’s best friend (aka my dog or pet) run with me?
A: Sure! Under 2 conditions… It must be on a leash and you must start in the back of the starting group at the start line.
Q: Can I run with a stroller?
A: We love families! So absolutely! Again, 2 conditions… You must start in the back of the starting group at the starting line and your child must be on a … wait. Just the one condition, start in the back of the starting group.
Q: Are wheelchairs allowed?
A: You bet! There is handicap accessible parking and facilities.
Q: Is this race timed?
A: Yes! We provide chip timing at both the start and finish with our Jaguar timing system. We gun start/chip finish for the 1K. The chip will be attached to the back of your individual bib number that you will receive in your packet at packet pick-up. You must wear your bib on the front of your body on the outermost layer of clothing for accurate results. If you are wearing your bib incorrectly, you may not be eligible for awards.
